Film portrays the social menace of female foeticide and low sex ratio, besides creating awareness among people against this social menace.In the film, Mother Simmer decides to give birth to a baby girl Preet (Roshni), bearing all odd ends and pressure from various quarters to abort the baby. She wins this battle by giving birth to a talented girl child, but sacrifices her own life. The other side Simmer's husband is tied with another girl who gives birth to an evil minded boy Richie (Richie Bawa). The contrary futures of the two children teaches a lesson to their family, proving daughters as a blessing and not a curse.
